Pride of Maui · Ma'alaea Harbor
A 65-foot power catamaran takes about 90 guests from Ma'alaea to Molokini and Turtle Town, with breakfast, a grilled lunch and an open bar for the ride back. Pick it for the turtle stop, the strong family reviews and the chance to try SNUBA on a hose from the surface.

Pride of Maui runs a 65-foot maxi power catamaran certified for 149 people and limited to 90. The size gives you two decks, a slide, a shaded cabin, a warm freshwater shower and real restrooms. Breakfast is served on the way out, lunch is grilled on board (guests mention burgers and hot dogs) and the bar opens on the trip back. For an extra fee you can try SNUBA, breathing through a long hose from a float on the surface; read our SNUBA guide first.
The draw is Turtle Town, the lava-rock reefs off the Makena coast where green sea turtles feed and get cleaned by reef fish. One September 2026 guest counted at least eight. The listing also says plainly that on windy or high-swell days the captain may pick a different site, and the critical reviews from July to September 2026 show it happening: several groups missed Molokini, two missed Turtle Town, and one reported drifting offshore to fill the time. Nobody got a partial refund. A captain's call is a safety call, but know the odds before you pay $233.
Pride of Maui has two boats on opposite sides of the harbor, and the listing warns that it's a long walk between them: this one is at the end of the pier by the Coast Guard building. Full-face masks are not allowed. If the price is the sticking point, the early Malolo runs the same two stops for $160, with breakfast and lunch but drinks extra.
Walk onto the pier next to the US Coast Guard building, turn left and go to the very end. Look for the large white boat with black and gold trim.
Breakfast and a safety briefing on the way out. Ginger drinks are handed round for anyone feeling the swell.
Snorkel the crescent with crew support; SNUBA divers go down with an instructor.
Second stop off Makena. Turtles often surface by the boat; keep 10 feet away in the water.
Grilled lunch, then the open bar on the return to Ma'alaea, about five hours after you set out.
★★★★★Molokini was crystal clear with great visibility, lots of fish, and that unique crater setting you can’t get anywhere else. [...] She had motion issues on the way out, and they were immediately attentive and kind [...] That made the whole day possible for her instead of miserable.
★★★★★You get the perfect amount of time at each location (of 2) that you snorkel at. [...] Stop two I saw 4 turtles, which is amazing, but there are a lot of people in the water also looking to see turtles, so keep the crowds in mind.
★★★★★Mother Nature had other plans and we weren't able to do Molikini due to windy weather. Had a wonderful fun time at Turtle Town. I'm not the best swimmer and the crew was helpful and patient in assisting me.
★★★★★Most, if not all details and comforts are taken care of by crew including ginger drinks to ward off any sea sickness to well-organized and timely distribution of equipment, meals, H2O, beverages and mini-lessons.

Viator lists 7:30 AM as both the start and the check-in time; Pride of Maui's own site gives an 8:00 AM departure. Be on the pier by 7:30 AM and you're safe. The trip lasts about five hours.
The captain picks a safer site, and you keep the day without a partial refund. Several 2026 guests had this happen in July to September. If the operator cancels outright, Viator gives a new date or a full refund.
It's paid on board and not included in the $233 from-price; the Viator listing doesn't publish the fee, so ask at check-in. Our SNUBA and scuba guide explains how it works and who can do it.
Yes, beer, wine and cocktails are included for guests 21 and over, served after the snorkeling on the way back. Soda and water are included for everyone.
